Ascott’s First “Happy Kitchen” has been established in CapitaLand Han Huang Hope Primary School in Xuzhou

On May 30, 2014, “The Establishment of CapitaLand Han Huang Hope Primary School cum CapitaLand, Ascott’s Happy Kitchen Opening Ceremony” had been held successfully in Xuzhou. Wei Yueqing, the Secretary-general of Youth Development Foundation of Jiangsu Province, Miss Wang Wei, Regional General Manager of Eastern Region Ascott, and over 20 volunteers who come from Ascott China have participated in this event. They witnessed CapitaLand Han Huang Hope Primary School Listing Ceremony and the first Ascott Happy Kitchen.

As the completion of the school was coincided with Children’s Day and the eve of Dragon Boat Festival, Ascott selected over 20 volunteers by recruiting and training procedure, providing them a chance of returning to campus, and intimate interaction of hope primary school students. On 29th May, Ascott had organized volunteers from Shanghai, after nearly 8 hours travelling; they arrived at the school and stayed with the students for holidays.

On 30th May, nearly 70 students participated in the event. Ms Wang Wei, Regional General Manager of Eastern Region Ascott, represented Ascott China to attend the event. She wishes all of the children happiness and health. Ascott also sent uniforms as a holiday gift for the kids. Volunteers played games with children to teach them nutrition knowledge. In addition, some volunteers played a giant puppet of “Panda” and “Rilakkuma” to bring surprises to children. The kids enjoyed to hug with puppets, and took photos with them. In the afternoon, the kids and volunteers had lunch together which was cooked by Happy Kitchen.

CapitaLand Han Huang Hope Primary School is located in Zhao Zhen Jin Liu Zhaicun County, Xuzhou City, Jiangsu Province, which is reconstructed by CapitaLand China hopes Fund’s donation of $400,000. The total construction area of school is 2,400 square meters, which is constructed by three buildings constitute, including school buildings and auditoriums. There are total of six school grades with 10 classes, and each class involves 30-40 students. There are currently 383 students.

On August 29, 2013, Ascott China launched Happy Kitchen program in Shanghai together with CapitaLand China Hopes Fund and China Youth Development Foundation. The program aims to help children to improve their dining environment and nutrition supplementary. As the first Ascott Happy Kitchen, it is equipped with modern kitchen equipment processing, cooking, cleaning, disinfection, and other storage functions, including Smart two-door car steaming, boiling intelligent, water purification, disinfection cabinet, freezer, multifunction shredder, electric insulation and stainless steel cutlery sets Canteen, etc. It can help cooking for the teachers and students of clean and nutritious lunch simultaneously.
